The tour starts at 09:30 by picking you up from any address or arranged meeting point within Baku. After meeting, we drive to the Old City (Icherisheher). The tour begins in front of the Double Gates, from where we will explore all the major historical monuments of the Old City.
Sites visited include:
- Maiden Tower – An iconic 12th-century stone structure, possibly dating back to the 7th–6th centuries BC.
- Palace of the Shirvanshahs – A 15th-century palace complex featuring a main building, mosque, bathhouse, and mausoleum.
- Juma Mosque – Originally built in the 12th century on a Zoroastrian fire temple site, now features 15th-century architecture.
- Muhammad Mosque – One of Baku’s oldest mosques, dating to the 11th century.
- Murtuza Mosque – A 14th-century mosque showcasing classic Islamic architecture.
- Bukhara & Multani Caravanserais – Historic inns for Silk Road traders, built in the 15th century.
- Bazaar Square – A lively market area once central to trade in silk, spices, and handicrafts.
- Agha Mikayil Bath – An 18th-century bathhouse, now restored and preserved.
- Saint Bartholomew Church Site – Believed to be the martyrdom site of Saint Bartholomew, one of the twelve apostles.
- Miniature Book Museum – Home to over 5,600 miniature books from around 60 countries.
- Vahid’s Garden – A peaceful park featuring a statue of poet Mammad Araz Vahid.
- Icherisheher Walls – The 12th-century fortified stone walls defining the Old City’s medieval character.
- Narrow alleys and stone-paved streets – Perfect for walking, photography, and immersing in Baku’s historic atmosphere.

Heydar Aliyev Cultural Center
A 15-minute drive from the Old City takes us to the Heydar Aliyev Center, a masterpiece of contemporary architecture designed by Zaha Hadid. The 57,519 m² building includes advanced engineering and design elements, making it one of the most recognizable landmarks in Baku.

Next, we head to Baku Boulevard and visit the Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum (a 15-minute drive from the Heydar Aliyev Center).
Baku Boulevard, established in 1909, stretches over 5 km along the Caspian Sea and is one of the city’s most iconic public spaces.
The Carpet Museum, designed to resemble a rolled-up carpet, houses over 10,000 items, including:
- Carpets from the 17th to 20th centuries
- Ceramics, jewelry, and metal works
- Notable historical pieces like the “Ajdahali” carpet

Our final stop is Highland Park, also known as Dagustu Park, a 15-minute drive from Baku Boulevard.
